An Introduction to ACCA Qualification

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is a global body that offers you courses that are flexible and offer you multiple entry points based on your qualification and academic scores.

ACCA offers you a gamut of optional qualifications in the Journey towards full-fledged ACCA qualification. These are as follows:

ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business
  • On completion of Applied Knowledge exams, along with

ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business
  • Completion of the Applied Skills exams, plus

BSc (Hons) Degree in Applied Accounting

The Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business benchmarked at UK Bachelor’s university degree. You can gain this degree at the same time as studying for the Applied Skills exams through ACCA partnership with Oxford Brookes.

While doing these ACCA offers you exemptions based on various criterion.

ACCA Exemptions and How it Works

Here are the various stages at which you may start your ACCA qualification:
  • After clearing your 10th board exams by enrolling for Foundation in Accountancy course
  • After clearing or while doing your 12th board exams
  • After completing or while doing your graduation degree
  • After or while completing any professional accountancy qualification
Based on the level at which you enter the ACCA qualification course and your scores, you get exemptions from papers on payment of exemption fees. These exemption fees can be very heavy at times but to get the exemption one must pay the fees.

The Professional Ethics Module

An online interactive module that supports development as a trusted and confident finance professional. This module is compulsory and is recommended to be completed before you take up the Strategic Professional exams. This certificate of completion will evidence your professionalism to employers.

Practical Experience Requirement

36 months of supervised experience in a relevant accounting or finance role. This can be either done before, during or after clearing all ACCA papers. While you work you need to demonstrate the 9 performance objectives to allow you to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and techniques in the workplace.
